She is doing a great job at saying words for things she wants or sees. Her favorites right now are bird, hat, dog and car.
She has an especially sweet and excited smile when she sees the blueberries come out of the fridge. She'll gather all of her breath and with one big exhale say "Beh-ees" which is berries. She loves her berries; blue, black, raspberries, strawberries - she loves them all. She's still signing and speaking- it is so great to communicate and we are all really in sync with knowing what Sophia needs and wants, at lea
st most of the time. But it does change everyday - she keeps us on our toes!
Sophia is so inquisitive. She is exploring everything from flushing a toilet, opening whatever drawers she can, puttin
g her toys in hiding places, always wanting to open anything with a lid. She is really exploring and I can almost see that brain grow by the minute.
She has been walking hand in hand with us for a few weeks now, I LOVE that. Her tiny little hands are so tender as we walk, her in front and Daddy or I behind. She has played with the idea of walking without support. Whenever I can tell she is thinking about it, I get right in front of her and reach out my arms, she's taken one step and then before putting all of her weight on that leg, she'll sit down and power scoot. She is doing the bear walk a LOT though - she just wants to move!
School is going very well, we absolutely love her teacher. We have also had a lot of fun this summer visiting both Jason's and my family. She is a good little traveler. For now, she just sleeps in the car for her nap. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will continue working for a while. Sophia is so loved by all of our family and friends, we are so blessed.
