My Amazing Husband

It is a bittersweet day for us - today Jason goes back to work after a month of leave to start our beautiful family. We have been so fortunate to have this time together - it was such an adventure and I will always be so grateful that we had this time to figure out the basics of parenting together. I am a little saddened because this marks the first chapter of our lives as a family. From the anticipation of the birth of our daughter, to the delivery and coming home - introducing her to Wrigley and starting to find routines. Everything from where to put the extra diapers, continually finding out what else we forgot to put in the diaper bag, how to travel with our daughter and her many accessories, getting up every couple of hours together - each running into walls and bumbling around to find the wet wipes with little to no sleep, and then getting a pattern working and gaining in sleep. Learning how to sooth Sophia and meet her needs - and that brilliant smile when we each have found what works and were able to successfully console her, and new in the last few weeks the most rewarding , tender little smile she gives us when she is happy and content (and excited to see her parents, that she now recognizes!) I have loved our mid-morning naps after a long night, figuring out how to cook and eat dinner at like 9:30 at night because we just haven't gotten to that yet. I LOVE seeing you as a Daddy, seeing you the most happy and with the biggest smile I have ever seen in you. I love when Sophia looks for you when she hears your voice and how she instantly melts into your arms. I love that she is the most comfortable when she takes a nap on your chest, rising and falling with your breath and heartbeat, that being her favorite lullaby.

Jason, you have been so supportive through the pregnancy, delivery and in the start of our family. You are my teammate, my counterpart, my rock and as always my soul mate. Thank you for this special time in our lives and for being not only an amazing father to Sophia but an incredible husband to me. I have felt our relationship grow to new, amazing heights. This has been the most important journey of our lives and I can not wait to write the next chapter with you and all of the chapters to follow. Thank you my love.
