Curious

Sophia is curious about everything. I love it when I pick her up, or sit her up – her head just darts around so excitedly – she looks in every which direction, making sure not to miss anything. She sort of points her adorable nose slightly up and looks out of the corner of her eye, with an upturned smile. When she gets up in the morning, she is alert within a minute, ready to cease the day! And when its bedtime, she doesn’t want to miss a thing and really fights giving in to sleep.

Right now everything goes in the mouth, and if she can’t get it to her mouth, she’ll lunge for it! When I hold her she is starting to try to crawl out of it, even when I’m standing up. She is ready to start moving! Now that she is so observant of the world around her, it seems she just can’t wait to explore it.

When she eats solid foods, she always accepts the first bite then crinkles her nose, moves her lips back and forth and then gingerly swallows. Then she’ll look at me with a concerned look and really consider if she wants that next bite or not. The latest food we’ve tried is pears and that is a food we can’t feed her fast enough, she loves it! As soon as she has finished a bite, she immediately opens her mouth wide for the next one. She even gets frustrated when I’m too slow! Our little eater is doing great.
