16 Months!

Oh my how time flies. Its been a bit of a challenge keeping up with the blog lately. It seems that for both Jason and I we are running from 5:00am when we get up (to get ready before Sophia opens her precious eyes) until we tuck Sophia in at 7:30pm. Then, about all the energy we have left is to just pass out on the couch and unwind a little bit. We love our busy and fulfilling life!

Sophia is doing great with school! She is excelling in the toddler room, napping well with only one nap a day, eating better than at home, playing and socializing with kids and adults alike. When I pick her up at the end of the day, she is almost always smiling and I can just tell she wants to tell me everything she learned that day. I can hardly wait until she can.

We do have a lot of pretend conversations now. She can say SO many words - she picks up on the funniest things. There is a toy that we call "Guy" and out of no where a few days ago, she proudly lifts it up and pronounces "GUYEEEE" she did it over and over again. Our little smarty pants is even starting to mimic words we say. I know she is just soaking up every little thing we say or do.

We have had a great time visiting family. We love playing with all of our cousins. We celebrated Uncle Jeremy's birthday this last month and Sophia is really starting to keep up with her cousins; Ali, Brooklyn and Cate - all 2.5 years old. She was running around chasing them, even if they didn't know they were being chased. They all play so well together, more play dates to come. Sophia has really lit up with all of her new abilities and she is just so excited to play with other kiddos. We also visited my family in Greeley. It was a great time playing with Cousin Mia - she was so generous to share her toys, her sand box and her sippy cup. Sophia learns volumes from Mia - she is 3.5 and is taking on a nurturing role and taking excellent care of Sophia. And it always goes without saying that Sophia cherishes her time with her Grammy & Pa, Grammy & Grandpa. She just lights up with her grandparents and knows that she is especially adored and has those extra little privileges that come with going to Grandparents houses. I love watching them all play together. It is also really special that Sophia gets to spend time with her great-grandma. What a gift to have four generations in our family!

Its been a whirlwind month, fall is in the air - Sophia is fascinated with the leaves. She loves all of the colors and picks up a leaf any chance she gets - and studies it intently. It is simply amazing to see the awe and wonder in our little girls eyes. It makes me appreciate this beautiful world in a whole new light.
