A Week of Firsts

What an amazing week this has been. After a few sleepless nights, we are starting to figure out her eating pattern and are becoming more and more successful at differentiating between night time feedings and day time feedings with awake time. Last night we had 3-1/2 hours of sleep between each feeding! It was wonderful. I'm sure this will be back and fourth for a while, but it was great to have some concentrated sleep for a night.

Sophia is doing great! Since Friday, she has had lots of wonderful visitors pouring over her with love. We had our first doctor's appointment on Monday - and she was well behaved throughout the visit. Everything checked out and she was perfectly healthy. We have had some great family and friends come over throughout the week bringing dinner and playing with Sophia for the few minutes she's awake right now - thank you to everyone for bringing us food! It is much appreciated. :)

On Tuesday we went for our first walk, in the stroller with Wrigley too! We gave her the first (at home) sponge bath on Wednesday, which was a lot more fun for us than it was for her.

Thursday was a big day, it was Grammy Skalsky's retirement day and we packed up Sophia and celebrated her last day of work at a breakfast restaurant. It was Sophia's first official outing and she was very well behaved and slept almost the entire time. Congratulations Grammy for retiring - wishing you a very happy retirement filled with lots of quality time.

So far we have found that Sophia loves being held, sung to, read to, tooting, being held with kangaroo care, being talked to and eating. Sophia does not like sponge baths and changing her clothes or diaper. We have had a lot of quality time just holding her for hours studying her little hands and feet, getting to know all of her funny faces she makes. She is such a blessing in our lives.
