There is just something amazing about Christmas morning, everything feels fresh and new, hopeful. Sophia had slept through the night (a perfect Christmas gift for Mommy) and we had a lovely morning getting up, pla
ying and then Sophia helped me (more so supervised from her highchair) and we made breakfast for Daddy, with special Ch
ocolate Chip Pancakes and Cinnamon Whipped Cream.

We did presents in little spurts throughout the day, Sophia was overwhelmed with all the new and shiny things. We played as we went, had a
wonderful breakfast, some amazing quality time and lots of wonderful gifts. We are one blessed family.
When Daddy got home, we both were just so excited - Wrigley was out rolling around in the snow and we all just knew that this was a special morning. Santa had brought all of us presents and filled the stockings! Wrigley was eagerly sniffing the stocking, while Sophia was ogling at the pinwheel and cookie monster puppet that Santa had put in her stocking. Daddy and I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down, immediately Sophia starting ripping into her big Santa gift, a little toy house front! She was very excited about the wrapping paper, not so much the toys.
We opened our last round of presents at 6:00 at night, before Sophia went to bed - seeing Christmas through little Sophia'
s eyes was miraculous. She was amazed by the decorations, the ornament-filled tree, the shiny wrapping paper and very squeezable bows. She enjoyed her toys, one at a time, and we enjoyed seeing the wonder of Christmas in a whole new light. This is a beautiful season, but I never knew how magical Christmas really was until Sophia showed us. Merry Christmas to all.
